How does Six Month Smiles work?
A fully trained dentist must assess a patients condition before any treatment can begin. Therefore, a series of extensive photographs and x rays are required to determine whether the treatment will prove successful.
Once assessed, the dentist can then move forward with the installation of the six month smile braces. The braces work by focusing specifically on those teeth presented during smiling rather than as other devices do, aiming for wholesale alignment changes within the mouth. Wire made from Nickel titanium are used to exert pressure on the teeth within the “smile” range. These thin, tooth coloured wires, place a low force of the selected teeth which causes them to very gradually move.
Monthly follow up visits are required and a removable retainer should be issue for sleeping or patients are given the option of a permanent band on the back of their teeth.
