What are the Disadvantages of Invisalign?
The device has come under some criticism because it is made of a hard plastic, which means that the pressure applied to teeth is relatively low. This has the effect of making the treatment slower for users in comparison to other treatments; however, it does also mean less frequent visits to a qualified orthodontist are required.
The treatment requires regular six week consultations with a dentist or orthodontist, in which the progress and effect of the treatment is carefully monitored. In total, the treatment can take anywhere between nine and fifteen months to complete with as many as thirty different sets of aligners required in the most extreme cases.
