Can the Inman aligner tension cause it to break?

June 18th, 2012
Q.

I noticed that it said on ‘how does the inman aligner work’ that the aligner maintains a constant high level of tension on the teeth. Has there ever been cases when the aligner has broken inside the mouth because of this? Can this treatment cause the teeth to become loose? I’m considering this type of treatment because of its short term benefits as I’m getting married in September, I just want a guarantee that it will work with no problems/drawbacks etc.. any advice on who I should get this treatment from? I’m from Sheffield, ta very much!

Can teeth feel loose while wearing the Inman aligner?

June 6th, 2012
Q.

Hello Dr Qureshi,

I have just been fitted with the Inman aligner four days ago and have now heard that after two weeks or so, teeth can feel “loose”. I have rather a massive phobia of this and was wondering if you could please clarify what happens in an average treatment. Is it true that teeth become loose? Is it noticibly so, or is the treatment so gradual that you don’t really notice anything beyond the sensation of tenderness that I feel already from the pressure of wearing the aligner? And how long do the teeth take to set securely in their new position? I am so ridiculously scared of developing wobbly teeth!! I thought it best to ask you as you are the UK pioneer of this treatment and I have read a lot of your posts on the subject. I feel disinclined to ask my own dentist as she told me I must wear it at all times except eating and cleaning, and you expressly disagree with this saying 20 hours is the maximum per day and you must take a break.

I would be very grateful for your advice as I am scaring myself something silly worrying about the repercussions of using this treatment!

Thank you in advance for your time.

Can I get Inman Aligners and an expander at the same time?

June 6th, 2012
Q.

Will I be able to get Inman Aligners in conjunction with an Expander?

my upper teeth are prefectly straight but there is one tooth on the bottom row that is pushed forward and is slightly lower than the rest, might be a result of the tooth beside it being slanted slightly. Will Inman Aligners work for me? If they say my gums are too small, could I have a expander fitted followed by the Inman Aligners? or even at the same time?
if possible, how much would this cost? is it common?
Thank you, in advance and look forward to reading any advice you can offer me!

I have been told that I am not suitable for the Inman Aligner, what brace would you recommend?

May 28th, 2012
Q.

I have been told that I am not suitable for the inman aligner brace because my tooth condition is too severe. The dentist I visited then proceeded to list some of the other braces they offered that would be suitable. I nodded along but it all sounded a bit confusing to me and I’m not really sure what to go back to him with. Would you be able to let me know of any braces alternatives when the Inman aligner is unsuitable because the tooth condition is too severe? I mean, my teeth aren’t in the worst state of alignment but obviously too much for this appliance.

Is the Inman Aligner the best most cost effective brace available?

May 28th, 2012
Q.

Does it seem likely that I will be able to have straight teeth in 6 months with the inman aligner? My front teeth are gappy and a little buck and i would really just like to smile again without feeling embarrassed and having to hide behind my hand. My teeth are in good health and I have never even had a filling but i have never really been happy with my smile ever since I got my adult teeth. I now have the money I need to have treatment, but I just need to know where to start to get treatment. TBH the cheaper the brace the better, but that being said I wouldn’t want to skimp on quality. From what i have seen the inman aligner is very well priced, do you think i will be able to have my teeth straightened with the inman aligner?

thank you

What are the best treatments for making my teeth straight and white?

May 28th, 2012
Q.

Hi,
I watched a programme on TV where a lady had style makeover which included getting a makeover of sorts on her teeth. I really would like a similar thing, she had crooked front teeth and they were dirty looking and after her teeth makeover her teeth were lovely looking, straight and really white. where can I get this kind of thing done? The main thing is I want my teeth straightened so I do want an Inman aligner, do you think this will work and how long do I need to wear it?
I like the idea of it as it seems discreet, I feel embarrassed having a brace at 36 years of age. Would you b able to recommend where i could get the treatments?

Would the Inman aligner work for straightening bottom front teeth?

May 28th, 2012
Q.

Hello, i hope you can help me

I would like to know about the inman aligner for straightening bottom front teeth. I’ve seen in the videos that it is used for top teeth but the problem I have is with the bottom teeth and just wondered if it was possible to use the inman aligner to achieve the straightening I want?

I was unsure whether it would be too bulky for the bottom teeth but you are the expert so you would obviously know a lot better. If the inman aligner isn’t the best brace for me what would say was?

I would really love to have straighter teeth so any help you give would be brilliant.

thank you

Can the Inman aligner fix my teeth in six weeks?

May 25th, 2012
Q.

Do you think it likely that I can have my teeth straighter in 8 weeks when I have a large gap between my front teeth? I am hoping to have my teeth straighten to impress at a school reunion which is coming up in a couple of months.

I know, I know i should have had treatment sooner, but it has just been the thought of this that has spurred me on to trying to improve my appearance. If it is going to take a long time I think now I have decided I want the problem fixed I would still go ahead with treatment.   Even if it isn’t completely closed do you think the inman aligner could make some movement within the 8 week period?

thank you

How do you clean the Inman aligner properly to make sure there isn’t any bacteria left?

May 22nd, 2012
Q.

How do you clean the inman aligner properly to make sure there isn’t any bacteria left? I have pretty sensitive teeth and if I don’t keep them thoroughly clean I am in big trouble, as the dental and fillings usually starts. I chose the inman aligner because you could take it out, but I am worried that I am not getting it clean enough before I put it back in. I used a child’s tooth brush to clean the wires and everything else and fluroide toothpaste, but is this enough? Is there anything else I should be doing? I was thinking of soaking them like dentures, but am not sure for how long and what I should add.

Any suggestions would be great, thank you

Will the Inman aligner fix my overlapping teeth?

May 21st, 2012
Q.

I had fixed braces after having four teeth extracted several years ago. (two top, two bottom). My top front two teeth are now overlapping slightly with one of the teeth protruding 4mm. After having an appointment with an orthodentist he told me I would need IPR plus a fixed brace for 2 years.

I came across this treatment online and wanted to know would it be feasible to get the inman aligner to fix this problem and without IPR. I am not comfortable at the idea of my teeth being filed down. Surely if I had treatment before and my teeth were straight, why do i need filing to create more room this time?
