How can I correct my overjet?

October 12th, 2012
Q.

I have a large overjet of 6 teeth. My adult teeth have grown down twisted and sitting out. about 20 years ago I got veneers fitted which made my teeth look straight.  I have since had them replaced 3 times and am happy with the results, but I would like my overjet sorted I have been reading lots about Inman aligner and it seems the best option for me, with the length of time it takes for correction and the fact that it is removable for special occasions. is this possible with veneers and is it large enough to pull back 6 teeth.

Is the Inman Aligner quicker than other braces?

October 1st, 2012
Q.

My lower teeth have started to cross and I really badly want them straightening. I have been to the dentists and had an examination whereby he simply said “braces.” now I’m not being funny but I don’t want them! I have looked a lot at the Inman aligner which I like the look of. My first question would be; is it actually quicker than a traditional brace? If so, how much quicker generally speaking? The problem is that when I presented my dentist with the idea of having an Inman he scoffed and said that its not proper treatment!!! It goes without saying that he doesn’t provide it but there are local dentists that I know that do. Could you please advise me on crooked teeth and the Inman aligner and any possible reason why he would make comments like that saying they’re not proper treatment methods? Thank you

How long will my Inman Aligners take to work?

September 25th, 2012
Q.

Hi there.

I have had my aligner fitted for 5 weeks now and my teeth are not moving much, the dentist is surprised by how little movement as there is plenty of room for them to move.

Predominently one of my front teeth and the one next to it, forgive lack of technical terms.

My question is, how long should you expect the longest period? You see lots of notes about “straighten in 5 – 12 weeks”, but i’m sure this will take longer, if it works at all.

Have there been cases where it did not work?
What are the steps taken in this case?

My dentist said give it another 2 weeks and he may tighten the springs and send photos for advise.  I just need to know it will work and I will have the patience to hang on, I am wearing it at least 20 hours a day, sometimes even more.

Thanks you.

Can you explain the composite work I will have done before Inman Aligner treatment?

September 24th, 2012
Q.

I have recently decided to go ahead and have the Inman Aligner, when I went for my brace fitting my dentist told me that i would have to have a composite blob put on my very front tooth to hold the Inman Aligner inplace. My dentist never informed me of this prior to going ahead with my decision to get the Aligner. I chose the Aligner as I had the option of taking my brace off for social occasions. Does the composite always have to go on the front tooth to hold it up? Can it not be put on the teeth either side of my two front teeth which would be more discreet? Thank you for your help and I very much look forward to getting your reply as I would like this matter sorted as soon as possible.

Are the problems I am having with the Inman aligner temporary?

September 18th, 2012
Q.

Hello,
I have been wearing the Inman Aligner for the past three weeks and I am starting to wish I has made a different choice in braces systems.I have been having a lot of speech problems with this brace and this is not getting any better. Nor is the extra salvation and I am finding wearing the braces to be extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing. Is this normal in anyway?I am now getting to the point where I have had enough. They make me not want to speak to people and have put me in a permanent bad mood at the moment. I rang my dentist a week ago and he said that the initial problems would go after two weeks but there is no sign of improvement.Could you please advise me to what I should so about this?

Are the more discreet Inman Aligners more costly?

September 14th, 2012
Q.

Hello,
I would like to know if the clear Inman aligners cost a lot more than the traditional Inman aligner?
I like the fact that this brace works faster than other braces and I would like my teeth to be corrected as soon as possible, but I would also like it not to look too obvious in my mouth. This is why I am considering the clear ones or the tooth coloured ones so that I do not feel self-conscious when i am speaking or smiling.
I have four crooked teeth on my lower jaw at the front and they seem to be getting worse as time goes on so I would like to get them sorted before I have more of a problem on my hands. Thank you for your advice in advance.

I am worried about the lack of tooth movement with my Inman Aligner

September 4th, 2012
Q.

Hi I have top and bottom aligners, I have been wearing them for 7wks I have a composite spot on the back of the bottom and top tooth, my bottom teeth which were more crowded with 1 tooth overlapping the other have straightened out lovely and I can see a end in sight with them. However my top teeth which just really need pushing back to fit flush do not seem to have moved at all I have wk by wk photos and there is no change to them, I feel pressure on the big teeth towards the back where the aligner clips on 2 so the teeth after the incisor, why are my top teeth not moving back to be flush with the others I have room as the dentist has filled between the teeth they donâ??t even feel loose in anyway not like the bottom where they do feel loose and have all moved beautifully

Will the Inman Aligner fix my crooked teeth?

August 23rd, 2012
Q.

Hi, I wanted to know if i can opt for an inman aligner for my front crooked teeth if a posterior teeth is removed? Also can you provide me with a cost comparison of inman aligner & traditional metal braces? I have my 2 posterior teeth removed . 1 from upper jaw & 1 from lower. I am planning to go with inman aligner for curing the crooked teeth. Both my upper & lower front teeth have spaces between them & are extending outwards. But my bite does not have severe problems. Looking forward to your answer.

Is the £100 fee for a consultation normal?

August 20th, 2012
Q.

I have recently spoke to my dentist about getting the Inman Aligner to fix my squint front tooth as it sticks out a little. After deciding it’s the option I really want to go for my dentist has advised I have to pay a standard £100 for him to look into my case. This will include him taking pictures of my teeth and studying them at night to see if I am a suitable candidate. I am happy to pay this for his work but I have just became worried as he kept saying this payment is non-refundable even if I cannot go ahead with the treatment. Is this usual? I tried probing him to see if he could guess whether I’d be a suitable candidate but he said he would have to do the study. I just dont want to get my hopes up and pay this amount to be told no. Have you even said no to the inman aligner before and what would be the reasons for not being able to get it?
