Can you tell me the estimate cost of the Inman Aligner and what this would include?

November 26th, 2012
Q.

could you give me the estimated price of the treatment for the Inman aligner for top and bottom teeth? I need my top teeth and my bottom jaw brought into line, do you think Inman aligner can do that? I would also like to know about retainers, do they come as part of the cost and can they be fixed to the bottom teeth as well? Also what are the generally treatment times with the Inman aligner? I’ve heard that it is one of the quickest braces available today. Thanks for any help you can give me in this situation.

Is it okay to drink things other than water when wearing the aligner? And should my jaw pain resolve itself?

November 22nd, 2012
Q.

Hi

I’ve been wearing my Inman Aligner (top teeth only) for about 2 weeks now, and have already noticed some movement and improvement in my teeth – it’s amazing!

Just a couple of questions:

Am I able to drink anything other than water while wearing the inman aligner (ie white wine, cordial, tea/coffee etc)? is the main concern with some drinks just staining? or can it damage the plate?

Also, when i take my Inman Aligner out, my jaw is really sore from being stuck in a new position and being unable to close – will this resolve after treatment? or can it permanently alter the way your jaw sits?

thanks!

Is the tear I have noticed in my Inman Aligner affecting the treatment?

November 22nd, 2012
Q.

HelloI had my inman aligner braces fitted on tuesday last night but now I have noticed there is a crack along the plastic at the front of my teeth.
The aligner hasn’t been dropped or anything or knocked but I can’t say I noticed this when it was first fitted. Could this be a problem and make the piece unsafe to wear or even affect the effectiveness of the treatment straightening my teeth?. I can’t help but think it may have been there from the start when the braces were fitted but that I haven’t noticed it until now as my mouth has become accustomed to it.

Should I make an emergency appointment for the next working day for this problem or can this wait until my next scheduled appointment?

Thanks in advance for your reply and I hope you can help me.

Can the Inman Aligner help to fix four teeth that stick out more than an overbite?

November 13th, 2012
Q.

Hi,
My top four teeth stick out more than an overbite. I think it is called an over jet. I don’t understand how this is possible as I wore retainers, normal braces and a head brace at night. My treatment stopped before I turned 16. I am now 20 and my teeth have managed to move back to how they were before the treatment. Even after the treatment I continued to wear my retainers and as soon I stopped I noticed my teeth were moving back to how they originally were. For the last 5 months my top front teeth have been moving forward and I feel like this every morning I wake up. I have been told that it might be due to my tongue pushing them out. My bottom front teeth have been moving backwards and I feel them hurting before they do. As a result I am uncomfortable with my teeth as I am unable to close my mouth as they are in the way. I was wondering whether an aligner would be able to sort this issue. I also wanted to know whether the aligner would work long term as my previous treatment didn’t. The last thing I want is to go through with it only for my teeth to move back to how they are after a few years.

What is an effective brace for closing tooth gaps and retaining my smile?

November 13th, 2012
Q.

I had braces for 2 years to close upper spacing – I now have a fixed retainer (that seems to have been broke as the teeth have gradually gone back to their original positions-gaps) I have been advised on the Inman aligner but having looked on the internet I get the feeling its mainly used to straighten crooked/crowded teeth?? I was wondering if you could advise the most effective treatment type for closing gaps & retaining them in your professional view. – As I have no idea!! I’m frightened they’ll move again in another few years back to square one! I have even contemplated veneers on the top 8 teeth! Thank You

Could you tell me more about the Inman Aligner please?

October 29th, 2012
Q.

Hello Dr Tif, I hope you are well.I was just wondering, could you tell me what the front on the Inman aligner looks like? I’ve been told about a bar which sounds a little bit off putting. Is it that noticeable? If it is only a little bit noticeable, but at the same time fast acting then I think I would go for it. My main problem is my two front teeth which are a goofy and I would really prefer to have it sorted out sooner rather than later. Thanks for your time and any help you can give me and I look forward to hearing from you soon, thanks again.

How can I be sure that my braces are genuine?

October 22nd, 2012
Q.

Hi Dr Tif,

I’m writing from Melbourne Australia and I’ve had my ‘Inman aligner’ for about 6 weeks now. But ever since my dentist sent me an hours’ drive away to the lab to get my Inman aligner ‘shaved’ and tightened using pliers, I have had my doubts on whether or not I have been given a genuine Inman aligner product.

Comparing it to the images online, it looks nothing like them, it does not have any titanium coils and it has no laser etched Inman aligner name on it and I wasn’t given any Inman aligner box or brochure pack when I first got it.

I hope you can clear my doubts for me and advise me on what I should do.

Thank you kindly.

Will the Inman Aligner straighten my overcrowded teeth?

October 19th, 2012
Q.

Hi Donal Inman.
I am 22 years old and wanted to have my teeth fixed when I was 13 as I noticed they were starting to shift.
My school dentist however said it was merely cosmetic and they wouldn’t do it. So I have never had braces but my front teeth in the lower jaw have shifted so that the two in the middle have started hitting each other and the one tooth is now behind the 3 other front teeth completely. Will the Inman Aligner work on such a big problem or will I need braces?
I dont have a problem with biting or anything it is just annoying me a lot and it is almost impossible to clean that one tooth thats behind the other.
Is there a procedure where one can have the teeth fixed like an operation?

I am in university currently and don’t have the biggest urge to be wearing braces as it clearly isn’t the best look.

So how does it look when you wear this aligner?

I sincerely hope you can help me with this question.

Kind regards

Why is my Inman aligner not moving my teeth yet?

October 19th, 2012
Q.

Dear Tif

I have been wearing the Inman Aligner for 20 days for 20 -21 hours a day on my upper teeth. I don`t see any difference yet, which worries me. My dentist did the filing on 1 tooth on my 1st appointment. I am worried it wasn`t done properly or he didn`t create enough room. Also the back acrylic bar goes slightly over my teeth. I can see it from the front when I smile. Shouldn`t it be completely hidden behind my teeth to do all the pushing? My teeth do feel slightly wobbly, so hopefully it`s working….

Is it too soon to remove my Inman aligner?

October 15th, 2012
Q.

I am a 67 years old man who has completed 20 weeks with an Inman Aligner and am pleased with the results so far.
The treatment is to correct a rotation to the front left incisor and a protrusion of both front incisors. The rotation is almost done and the protrusion has improved but still has some distance to go.These facts are based on a comparison to the mould supplied. Will the end product match that as shown on this mould ?
At present there is space between one side of my right lateral incisor and the lingual bar.
My left front incisor has no contact with the lingual bar, although very close where adjacent to the right front incisor but still about 1mm gap on the outside edge. All this is based on my own close observations with mirrors.
Time is not an issue but hope to achieve results as shown on mould.
Still seeing my dentist on regular basis but on last visit he stated that the treatment almost there, hence this email.
look forward to your response
many thanks
